Pre-Malaysia Day Morning Ride - HOA > Genting Sempah

Few bouts of rain yesterday brought the API down to circa 100, reckoned it should be good for a morning ride - and was pleasantly rewarded.

Met up with Zenden and Kar Wor who were waiting at Hospital Orang Asli, then took a slow and steady climb up to Genting Sempah.

It was so tempting to turn around at the top, but our convincing ride captain would not have any of that! Following his lead we took the plunge downhill and pulled over shortly to wait for Zi Yang who is right behind us, before we continued rolling to Bukit Tinggi.

Had a good refueling breakfast, rested up for an hour and started heading back - what a payback it was, all the downhill bombing now turn into torturous climbs for 6kms. Had to stop a couple of times but made it to the top nevertheless where we regrouped one last time.

As noon approaches we rolling back hurriedly to HOA, and bid farewell for those who were riding all the way back.

Highlight: new aero drop bars are niceeee to climb on tops, air was super fresh and GS climb was not as intimidating as I thought.

Lowlight: need to build more climbing strength, staying seated >99% of the ride may have caused chafing in my left inner thigh, the Lazer Genesis HRM is definitely wonky...
